Dr Matt Barker

Matt graduated with a Science degree from the University of Canterbury, and later with a Dental degree from the University of Otago. He practiced as a dentist at the Hutt Hospital, in Kent (UK) and Christchurch (NZ).

Matt graduated with a Masters of Dental Surgery in Orthodontics (with distinction) and moved to Wellington to start a private practice and raise a family. He returned to the Hutt Hospital and has been on the maxillofacial and cleft palate teams since 2004. He has a special interest in presurgical nasoelveolar moulding of cleft palate babies.

Matt is a member of the New Zealand Dental Association, New Zealand Orthodontic Association, and the World Federation of Orthodontists. He has also lectured at national conferences of the New Zealand Dental Association, the New Zealand Dental Therapy Association and to auxiliaries at the New Zealand Orthodontic Association.
