Dr Marco Merino Gerlach
Dr Marco Merino Gerlach graduated as a Dentist in 2000 from Valparaiso University, Chile and
worked as a General practitioner in the South of Chile for 3 years. In 2003, highly motivated by
learning more about orthodontics, he moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina, to be trained as an
Orthodontic specialist. After 3 years of intensive training at Del Salvador University, he returned to
Chile to open his private practice. In 2012 he attended a Mini-residency at the University of
Pennsylvania, Philadelphia.
In 2015 and 2016, he attended the 2-year postgraduate program in San Diego, California, with one
of the most prestigious Orthodontists in the US, Dr Richard McLaughlin, gaining valuable
knowledge and training to face complex orthodontic cases such as surgical cases. He is a current
member of the American Association of Orthodontists and the World Federation of Orthodontists.
He has been a registered Orthodontist in New Zealand since 2023; he has been married for over
20 years and has two boys. He loves to practice sports with his family, particularly skiing and
cycling.
